Original Second World War Allied propaganda leaflet dropped over Germany during the later years of WW2 as part of psychological warfare operations aimed at weakening German morale.
The leaflet compares the military and industrial strength of Britain, Russia, and America against Germany, highlighting the shifting balance of the war after major German defeats such as Stalingrad. The reverse side references 1939 and asks “Wer hat den Blitzkrieg gewollt?” (“Who Wanted the Blitzkrieg?”), while the main 1943 headline reads “Wer wird den Weltkrieg verlieren?” — translated as “Who Will Lose the World War?”
These leaflets were commonly distributed by Allied aircraft over German territory and occupied Europe to spread anti-Nazi messaging and encourage doubt within Germany regarding the outcome of the war. Original examples are increasingly sought after due to their historical significance and fragile wartime nature.
This example shows clear signs of age and wartime wear including folds, creasing, edge wear, tears, and age-related marks consistent with genuine field-used paper propaganda material from the period. Despite this, the leaflet remains highly displayable with strong printed imagery and text on both sides.
A fascinating and uncommon piece of WW2 psychological warfare history, ideal for collectors of airborne propaganda, RAF and Allied memorabilia, wartime paper ephemera, or historical displays.
